![]() ![]() I've been reading in several for many years and only now do I feel that I have a real chance to get to the point of reading them with true ease and real enjoyment. And I want to get to around 40-50k in French, German and other languages I know. Lingq solves all of those demotivating issues. Until i found Lingq I spent 30 years reading French but was unable to know what I knew or how to find what i did not know very easily, how to find texts that were more challenging and how not to have to spend 5 minutes looking up every other word in a dictionary which was so painful as to put me right off. Some above have said it is not about word count, but to me it is about not spending a lifetime reading bits of French and making no progress. Once I reach roughly that level, that is me happy as I know that the frequency of unknown words will be so minimal as to be largely unimportant. And then I want to use this system to get from 30k to 40-50k, say. Therefore it seems I will have to spend a very long time working my way up to the level I am at. The problem is that until i have encountered the word, Lingq assumes it is an unknown word, but it is known. purely to get to the point where I can select texts where I do not know the words. I want to save about 2 months of wading through lessons in which most of the words are known. ![]()
